Day 2 – Istanbul
After breakfast you will head to the conference room for your half day conference. Once the conference has finished we will have Lunch at a very good Turkish Restaurant and then depart for a boat cruise along the Bosphorus. A traditional excursion by boat, along the waterway separating Europe and Asia. The shore is lined with old wooden villas, palaces of marble, fortresses, and small fishing villages. During the excursion you will pass the magnificent Dolmabahce Palace, and further along, the parks and imperial pavilions of Yildiz Palace. On the coastal edge of this park, is Ciragan Palace, 300 meters of its marble facade faces the shore. At Ortakoy a great variety of artists gather every Sunday to display their work along the street. Ortakoy is a symbol of tolerance. A church, a mosque and a synagogue have existing side by side for centuries. RUMELI FORTRESS Built by Mehmet the Conqueror in 1452 prior to the conquest of Istanbul, was completed in only four months to control and protect the Bosphorus. It is one of the most beautiful works of military architecture anywhere in the world. BEYLERBEYI PALAS is the summer residence of ottoman sultans with its original furniture and magnificent gardens. BOSPHORUS BRIDGE connecting one continent (Asia) to another (Europe) SHOPPING POSSIBILITY AT BEDESTEN Here is an exhibition of traditional silk weaving girls on a carpet weaving course that is authorized by The Ministry of National Education. We also have the possibility to see jewelery, handicrafts complete with a leatherwear show. Free time provided for shopping. Dinner will be catered for at a nearby Turkish Restaurant.
Day 3 – Istanbul City Tour
Full Guided Istanbul Walking City Tour Visiting Topkapi Palace, (closed on Mondays) Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia Museum, (closed on Tuesdays)
Underground Cistern, Covered Bazaar. (Closed on Sundays) Lunch will be at local Turkish Restaurant. Dinner will be catered for at the hotel by a nearby Indian Restaurant. Overnight in Istanbul Day 4 – Istanbul Princes' Island Tour
Cruise in the Marmara Sea to Princes' Islands, stop at Büyükada, the popular summer resort with sandy beaches and pinewood scenery, once the pleasure island of Byzantine Princes. Tour of the island with a horse-drawn carriage before lunch at a fish restaurant.
Evening return to Istanbul and transfer to hotels.
